THANKSGIVING TO GOD – written by Tanis Harms
TOPIC:       scripture reading of thanksgiving
SCRIPTURE:   Lev.22:29; 2Sam.22:50; 1Chron.16:8; 29:13;
.            Ps. 86:12; Is. 12:4; Rev.7:12
Style:       speak-theater/conversation: themes and
.            statements are repeated for special emphasis
Cast:        6 NARRATORS or more
Set & Props: scrolls (can be used for script, which would
.            act as a visual symbol that what you are
.            reading and referring to are Bible verses)

NOTES:       - read with varying degrees of strength
.            –there are verses and portions of verses
.            in groups to create thoughts on themes;
.            leave pauses after each set of groups,
.            some pauses should be longer than others
.            – while reading the verses, you can have
.            the correlating scripture references
.            projected on a screen with creative slides

.            – you could also have more readers involved
.            and divide the lines accordingly,
.            example: Narrator 1’s verses could be split;
.            OR you could have different reading groups
.            for each subject/theme; AND/OR have
.            groups of verses interspersed throughout
.            a Thanksgiving service/program

.            - all scripture is taken from the NAS,
.              a few are shortened but still in context
.            – this is long on purpose, so you can choose
.            which scriptures or groups of scripture
.            you wish to include for different emphasis

.            (each grouping has a title in parenthesis)
.              – NARRATOR 1 begins a block of verses
.                which give reasons to be thankful;
.                this should be read almost like
.                delivering a sermon
.              – NARRATORS 2-3 give a “call”
.                to the people to be thankful
.                and should be sincere
.              – NARRATORS 4-6 give thanks
.                with lots of energy and passion!

(THANKING GOD FOR HIS VICTORY)

N1    The sting of death is sin,          (1Cor.15:56-58)
.     and the power of sin is the law;

.     a sacrifice of praise to God,
