.             and they begin to compare Santa Claus to
.             the things that relate to Jesus and salvation.

.             $15.00 USD to receive a DIRECTOR’S SCRIPT
.                                    (plus sheet music)
how you receive this & package description

Cast:         ROGER        (older, jolly, kind and wise)
.             ASSISTANT    (optional)
.             CHILDREN     (as many as you want
.                           15 would make sense,
.                           but you can have more or less)

Set & Props:  chair or bench,
.             big bag of (small) presents OR Bibles
.             – either numbered and in careful order
.               with Bible verses attached,
.             - or as presents are handed out,
.               cards with Bible verses can be handed out
.             (unless the children are able to memorize,
.               then there isn’t a need for either)

.            – if you want more children to have lines,
.              you can split each part
.              so that one child talks about Santa,
.              and another child reads the Bible verse
.            – you do not have to mention every point,
.              or if you do not have enough children,
.              choose which points you wish to mention
.            – if you do not have enough children,
.              you can also give them a few extra lines
.              from the opening (just re-number the lines)
.            - I have recommended songs to be sung
.              either by soloists, choir or congregational;
.              and/or you can choose other applicable songs
.            – all verses are taken from the NASB version

pointing and clapping and jumping up and down.
[This section can be edited shorter by saying only the lines
from CHILD 1, 2, and 12.  Lines 1 and 2 can be combined.])

CHILD 1    Look!  Look over there!  Christmas has arrived!

CHILD 2    Could that really be Santa Claus?!

CHILD 3    Maybe.  But - he’s not all dressed up in red.

CHILD 4    Maybe he’s on a break.

CHILD 5    His clothes could be in the laundry.

CHILD 6    I just thought he had 7 pairs of red suits.

CHILD 7    MAYBE - he’s working undercover.

CHILD 8    Well, I gotta go see him!

CHILD 9    Yeah!  I gotta tell him
.          what I want for Christmas!

CHILD 10   Just make sure to ask nicely!

CHILD 11   So, what are we all waiting for?

CHILD 12   Yeah!  Come on.  Let’s go see him!

CHILD 13   Just make sure to be nice!

(CHILDREN rush over to ROGER [and ASSISTANT].
CHILDREN stand and smile at ROGER.
[This section can be edited shorter by combining 14 and 15, and
deleting 16 and 17.]  Finally...)

CHILD 14   (sweetly)  Hello.

CHILD 15   Santa Claus?  Is it really you?

ROGER      Sorry to disappoint you, kids.                 3
.          My name is Roger.
.          But I know someone who is better than Santa.

CHILD 16   Better than Santa?  But – Santa - is awesome!

CHILD 17   So who could that be?  Who could be better than
.          Santa?  The President (the Prime Minister,
.          the King, the Queen)?  Grandma???

ROGER      (chuckling)  His name is Jesus.

(While each CHILD talks about Santa, ASSISTANT hands ROGER
a present and the appropriate card.  If there are two
children, you may want to have a present for each one.
As ROGER talks, he can hand out the card and/or gift/s.
Do the same thing each time, for each child/each set.)

CHILD 18a  How is Jesus better than Santa?  Like -
.          there are many different stories about Santa
.          in movies and in story books.

ROGER      The true story of Jesus Christ
.          is found in the most important book
.          in the whole wide world.  The Bible.
.          It tells us all about God’s truth,
.          and how Jesus is the Son of God.

CHILD 18b   (2 John 1:3)
.           Grace, mercy and peace will be with us,
.           from God the Father
.           and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father,
.           in truth and love.

CHILD 19a   Well, I do not know if Santa had a mom or dad,
.           or when Santa was even born;
.           but I do know that he must be very old.
.           Like – grandpa-old, at least!

ROGER       Jesus has been forever, and always will be.

CHILD 19b   (Hebrews 13:8)
.           Jesus Christ is
.           the same yesterday and today and forever.

CHILD 20a   Santa comes down the chimney!
.           Well, our house does not have a chimney,
.           so maybe sometimes
.           he has to squeeze through the furnace ducts.

ROGER       Because Jesus loves us so much,                4
.           He came to die for all our sins and rise again.
.           In order to do that,
.           Jesus came down from heaven to earth
.           as a baby - about 2,000 years ago.

CHILD 20b   (Matthew 1:23)
.           “Behold, the virgin shall be with child
.           and shall bear a Son,
.           and they shall call His name Immanuel,”
.           which translated means, “God with us.”

CHILD 21a   In just one night, somehow
.           Santa goes to every house all around the world.

ROGER       Jesus created the universe,
.           and still continues to perform miracles.
.           And while He was here on earth,
.           people saw Jesus perform many miracles.

CHILD 21b   (John 20:30-31)
.           Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed
.           in the presence of the disciples,
.           which are not written in this book;
.      (31) but these have been written
.           so that you may believe
.           that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;  and
.           that believing you may have life in His name.

CHILD 22a   Santa visits children every year.

ROGER       Jesus is everywhere all the time,
.           and He is always with us.

CHILD 22b   (Jeremiah 23:24)
.           “Can a man hide himself in hiding places
.           So I do not see him?” declares the Lord.
.           “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?”
.           declares the Lord.

CHILD 23a   Santa is a very big man.

ROGER       Jesus is all powerful.

CHILD 23b   (Jeremiah 32:17)
.           Ah Lord God! Behold,
.           You have made the heavens and the earth
.           by Your great power
.           and by Your outstretched arm!
.           Nothing is too difficult for You!

CHILD 24a   Somehow, Santa knows                           5
.           if children have been naughty or nice.

ROGER       Jesus knows all things.

CHILD 24b   (Proverbs 15:3)
.           The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
.           Watching the evil and the good.

CHILD 25a   Santa will give you a piece of coal
.           when you are naughty.

ROGER       Jesus will forgive you of all your sins
.           when you ask Him, and believe in Him.
.           And then He gives you eternal life in heaven.

CHILD 25b   (1 John 1:9)
.           If we confess our sins,
.           He is faithful and righteous
.           to forgive us our sins
.           and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

CHILD 26a   That does sound pretty amazing.  Well, um...
.           I know that Santa likes children.

ROGER       Jesus is love.

CHILD 26b   (John 3:16)
.           For God so loved the world,
.           that He gave His only begotten Son,
.           that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,
.           but have eternal life.

CHILD 27a   Santa cares about children.

ROGER       Jesus cares about children.

CHILD 27b   (Mark 9:36-37)
.           Taking a child, He set him before them,
.           and taking him in His arms, He said to them,
.      (37) “Whoever receives one child like this in My name
.           receives Me; and whoever receives Me
.           does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me.”

CHILD 28a   Nobody is too old to believe in Santa.

ROGER       Nobody is too old or too young
.           to believe in Jesus.

CHILD 28b   (Romans 3:21-22)                               6
.           But now apart from the Law
.           the righteousness of God has been manifested,
.           being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
.      (22) even the righteousness of God
.           through faith in Jesus Christ
.           for all those who believe;
.           for there is no distinction

CHILD 29a   Santa is jolly and laughs big, like this,
.           “Ho ho ho!”

ROGER       No matter what you might be going through,
.           the gift of salvation through Jesus
.           is eternal joy.

CHILD 29b   (Isaiah 35:10)
.           And the ransomed of the Lord will return
.           And come with joyful shouting to Zion,
.           With everlasting joy upon their heads.
.           They will find gladness and joy,
.           And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

CHILD 30a   Santa gives children gifts at Christmas time.

ROGER       Jesus gives His children many gifts.

CHILD 30b   (James 1:17)
.           Every good and perfect gift
.           is from above, coming down
.           from the Father of the heavenly lights...

CHILD 31a   AFTER Christmas, when Santa is back at the
.           North Pole, he is busy making toys and things.

ROGER       Jesus is in heaven preparing a place
.           for all of those who believe in Him.

CHILD 31b   (John 14:1-2)
.           “Do not let your heart be troubled;
.           believe in God, believe also in Me.
.       (2) In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
.           if it were not so, I would have told you;
.           for I go to prepare a place for you.”

CHILD 32    Well, I’ve just got to say it!
.           Jesus could never be compared to anyone!
.           Could you please tell us more about Jesus?

(ROGER, [ASSISTANT] and CHILDREN exit.)                   7
