SCRIPT:

(NARRATOR/S enter at side.)

NAR. A1     The Bible’s story is all about
.           how God saves His people,
.           so anyone who chooses,
.           can have a perfect,
.           everlasting relationship with God.
.           In the beginning of time,
.           God created everything
.           in the heavens and on the earth:
.           day and night,
.           the sky, land and waters,
.           plants, trees and flowers,
.           the sun, moon and stars,

(Some of GROUP A comes out miming trees and flowers.)

NARRATOR    The fish, birds and animals.

(Some of GROUP A enter miming birds, fish and animals.)

NAR. A2     And THEN God created man,
.           who was called Adam.

(ADAM steps forward.)

NAR. A2     And woman, who was called Eve.

(EVE steps forward.  ADAM and EVE tilt heads together
and say “Cheese!” while an ANIMAL jumps forward,
and takes a photo of them, then jumps back into place.)

NAR. A2     God told them that they could eat          2
.           from any tree in the Garden of Eden –
.           except from one tree –

(LITTLE KID quickly gets into place as the tree.)

NAR. A2     The tree of the knowledge
.           of good and evil.

(ADAM and EVE look at each other and shrug big.)

NAR. A2     God explained to them
.           that if they ate from that tree,
.           they would die.

(ADAM and EVE nod big with understanding.)

NAR. A3     But Adam and Eve
.           had nothing to worry about,
.           so Adam and Eve got busy naming
.           all of the living creatures.

(ADAM and EVE take turns naming creatures
as LITTLE KIDS step forward, miming things like:
eagle, shark, elephant, dog, cat, bunny, another bunny,
snake...  ADAM and EVE point at the different animals
as they go past and say what they are.)

NAR. A3     And all was perfect and peaceful,
.           until one day,
.           Satan used a serpent
.           to tempt Eve to eat the fruit
.           from the tree of the knowledge
.           of good and evil.

(LITTLE KID comes out of the animal group
as a walking slinky snake, waving their arms to EVE
to come over to the tree and eat [or has stuffed snake
curled around neck which they hold out to EVE].
EVE mimes taking a fruit and taking a bite.
EVE puts a hand to her mouth, realizing.
EVE then looks at ADAM and waves to him to come over.)

NAR. A3     And after Eve had eaten from the tree,
.           she showed it to Adam, who ate from it, too.

(ADAM mimes taking the fruit and taking a bite.
ADAM and EVE both put their hands to their mouths,
realizing their mistake.)

NAR. A4     This choice brought sin into the world.     3
.           This brought death –
.           a separation of all people from God.
.           Now – there would have to be forgiveness.
.           NOW - people would have to choose
.           if they WANTED to have
.           a relationship with God.
.           And because of this,
.           people also started having problems
.           in their relationships with each other...

(ADAM and EVE turn their backs on each other,
angrily crossing their arms and pouting.)

NAR. A4     Even the animals had problems
.           with people and each other...

(ANIMALS mime suspicious attitudes toward each other,
baring teeth, clawing the air, scurrying away
and curling up, etc.)

NAR. A4     But more importantly,
.           because of this sin, Adam and Eve
.           had to leave the Garden of Eden.

(Sad, ADAM and EVE slowly start to exit.)

NAR. A5     This was to protect them,
.           for in the garden,
.           there was another tree –
.           the tree of life.
.           For if they had eaten from that tree
.           while they were dead in sin –
.           they would have stayed like that forever.
.           This is not what God wanted for them.

(While ADAM and EVE walk away from the tree and exit,
the “ANIMALS” around them, shirk and shy away from them
and exit.  All of GROUP A exits after this.)

NAR. A5     God DID promise them, that one day,
.           He was going to do something so that
.           people could choose to have a perfect
.           everlasting relationship with God –
.           a way that would save them forever.

(GROUP B/LITTLE KIDS enter as “PEOPLE”
and mime arguing and fighting with each other
[safely so].)

NAR. B1     After a while, Adam and Eve’s children      4
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people.

(PHOTO OP:  GROUP B gathers together and says “cheese”
while someone mimes quickly taking a photo.
“PEOPLE” immediately goes into “fighting/arguing” mode,
except for Noah.)

NAR. B1     Sadly, most of the people
.           chose to live wickedly.
.           But there was a person who chose
.           to have a relationship with God,
.           and that man was named - Noah.

(NOAH steps up to the microphone.)

NOAH        That’s me.

NAR. B2     God told Noah to build an ark.

NOAH        Ahhh - what?

NAR. B2     A HUGE boat kind of thing,
.           like - five stories high and
.           almost two football fields long!
.           which would save Noah from death.

NOAH        (still unsure)  Ooookay.

(“PEOPLE” laugh at NOAH, then get quiet again.
“PEOPLE” could also say “Yeah, right!”)

NAR. B3     Because God saw that the people
.           had become so wicked,
.           He was going to destroy them
.           with a large flood over the entire earth.

(“PEOPLE” laugh at NOAH, then get quiet again.
SOUND EFFECT OF RAIN – “PEOPLE” look up, worried,
then scatter and exit.  NOAH and three family members
stay behind.  These can be the soloists or kids who will
sing a group number at the opening of the song.)

NAR. B4     But God would save Noah and his family,
.           who had chosen to have
.           a relationship with God.
.           And God was also going to save the animals –
.           at least two of every kind.
.                                                       5

.           Children of...."

(GROUP A/B/LITTLE KIDS exit.  GROUP C enters bit by bit,
as the “FAMILY”, except for a few “SOLDIERS”
who stand by waiting and watching at the one side.)

NAR. C1     After a while, Noah’s children
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people...

(PHOTO OP:  “FAMILY” gathers together and says “cheese”
while someone mimes quickly taking a photo.
“FAMILY” immediately goes into “fighting/arguing” mode,
except for Abraham.)

NAR. C1     Sadly, most of them were living wickedly.
.           But there was a man who chose
.           to have a relationship with God.
.           His name was Abram.

(ABRAM steps forward.)

ABRAM       That’s me.

NAR. C2     Except that God changed Abram’s name
.           to Abraham, because God would make him
.           the father of a multitude of nations.

(“FAMILY” stands behind ABRAHAM, while
“SOLDIERS” still stand at the side, waiting.)
.                                                       7
NAR. C2     And God made a covenant with Abraham-

ABRAHAM     Ahhhh - what?

NAR. C2     A really big promise that will happen
.           because God said so.

ABRAHAM     Okay.

NAR. C3     God showed Abraham the land
.           that would be for his people.

(ABRAHAM and “FAMILY” shield their eyes and
look around at the land,
then start to mime an argument,
shaking fists at each other and at God.)

NAR. C3     It would always be their land,
.           but they would only get to live on it
.           when they were obeying God.

(“SOLDIERS” chase ABRAHAM and “FAMILY” to the other side.
“FAMILY” quickly gets to their knees to pray...
“SOLDIERS back away and stand waiting at this side.)

FAMILY      Dear God, help us and save us
.           from our enemies!

(“FAMILY” stands up and smiling, shaking hands, etc...)

NAR. C3     And they would be blessed,
.           but only when they were obeying God.

(“FAMILY” starts to argue again, shaking fists.
“SOLDIERS” chase ABRAHAM and “FAMILY” to the other side.
“FAMILY” quickly gets to their knees to pray...
“SOLDIERS back away and stand waiting at this side.)

FAMILY      Dear God, help us and save us
.           from our enemies!

(“FAMILY” stands up and smile and shake hands...)
the starts to argue again, shaking fists.
“SOLDIERS” chase ABRAHAM and “FAMILY” to the other side.
“FAMILY” quickly gets to their knees to pray...
“SOLDIERS back away and stand waiting at this side.)

FAMILY      Dear God, help us and save us
.           from our enemies!
.                                                       8
(“FAMILY” stands up and smile and shake hands...
but start arguing/fight again...)

NAR. C3     If you haven’t realized yet, people
.           have a hard time obeying.

(“SOLDIERS” lead “FAMILY” off stage while they
hang their heads in shame.)

NAR. C4     But God DID promise them, that one day,
.           He was going to do something
.           so that people could choose
.           to have a perfect everlasting
.           relationship with God –
.           a way that would save them forever.

(GROUP C&D/KIDS rush on as “FAMILY” and wait to sing.)

NAR. C4     After a while, Abraham’s children
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people!

(PHOTO OP:  “FAMILY” gathers together and says “cheese”
while someone mimes quickly taking a photo.  “FAMILY
gets into position to sing as happy family members
feeling the victory from battles they have won...
You could ask the audience to join in the motions.
I’ve suggested soloists, but you can change this.)

SONG 2:  FATHER ABRAHAM

SOLO 1      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm!"

SOLO 2      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm!"

SOLO 3      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm, right foot!"
.                                                      9
SOLO 4      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm,
.           right foot, left foot!"

SOLO 5      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm, right foot, left foot,
.           Chin up!"

SOLO 6      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm, right foot, left foot,
.           Chin up, turn around!"

SOLO 7      "Father Abraham...
.           Many sons...
.           I am...
.           So let's...
ALL         Right arm, left arm, right foot, left foot,
.           Chin up, turn around, sit down!"

(GROUP C/D/KIDS are already sitting down, now as
Israelite “SLAVES.” They wearily mime working in the mud.
Have a few kids be “SOLDIERS” with whips and swords,
standing over them, then step off to the side.)

NAR. D1     Sounds like a fun family,
.           but sadly,
.           all of Abraham’s descendants
.           found themselves in Egypt as slaves,
.           after an Israelite named Joseph
.           had brought his family into Egypt
.           to escape a drought and save the family.

(“SLAVES” wearily struggle to get up, then group
together in a bunch.)

NAR. D1     And after a while, these Israelites
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people...

(PHOTO OP:  “SLAVES” gathers together and              10
says “cheese” VERY sadly while someone takes a photo.
“SOLDIER” cracks a whip.)

SOLDIER     Get back to work!

(“SLAVES” quickly get back to positions and mime working
in the mud. Satisfied, “SOLDIERS” wander to stage right.)

NAR. D1     But God was soon going to show them
.           how much He wanted to have a close
.           relationship with them.

CHILD D1    We’re going to be slaves
.           for the rest of our lives!

CHILD D2    God has forgotten about us.

CHILD D3    No He hasn’t.
.           God would never forget.
.           God always remembers His promises.
.           It’s us!  We tend to forget about God.
.           Or we get too scared to trust God.

CHILD D4    And even though we don’t deserve it,
.           God STILL sent Moses to help us.

CHILD D1    Who is Moses, anyway?

CHILD D2    Haven’t you heard the stories?
.           Moses was born during the time
.           when Pharaoh told his soldiers
.           to kill all Hebrew baby boys.

CHILD D4    That’s right.  But his mother
.           put him in a basket
.           and he floated down the river,
.           until Pharaoh’s daughter found him.
.           and raised him as her own – in the palace.

CHILD D1    So while we’ve been slaving away,
.           he got to live like a prince!???

CHILD D2    I heard that he murdered
.           one of the Egyptian guards, then ran away.

CHILD D3    Well, he’s back.  God told him
.           to go to Pharaoh and demand to let us go.

CHILD D1    Yeah, right!  Never going to happen!
.                                                      11
NAR. D2     Well, it did happen.  But first God sent
.           ten horrible plagues onto Egypt
.           to demonstrate His mighty power,
.           to weaken the Egyptian army,
.           and make Pharaoh and the Egyptians
.           desperate to send the Israelites away.

(WATER KIDS grab blue fabric to make a sea and part it.
GROUP C/D, now “ISRAELITES,” walk through to one side.)

CHILD D5    WOW!  Can you believe THAT?
.           We just walked through the Red Sea!
.           HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

CHILD D6    We were saved – again!

(“SOLDIERS” come from other side and try to go through.
Have fabric come together and surround the “SOLDIERS”
as they die holding up their swords and going down, then
exit safely, unwrapping them at the side of the stage.)

CHILD D7    (sourly)  But just in time.
.           I KNEW that Pharaoh
.           would change his mind
.           and come after us.

CHILD D5    It was a close call.

CHILD D6    But God parted the Red Sea
.           so we could just walk
.           to the other side,
.           which not only saved us,
.           but when the water came back down -
.           it killed the entire Egyptian army!

CHILD D5    HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

(The entire GROUP C/D exit at stage left while
GROUP E enters stage right to sing.)

SONG 3:  THE HORSE AND RIDER

SOLO 1      "I Will...
.           For He...
.           The Horse...
SOLO 2      I Will...
.           For He...
.           The Horse..."

DUET 3/4    "The Lord...                            12
.           My Strength...
.           Has Now...
DUET 5/6    The Lord...
.           My Strength...
.           Has Now..."

ALL         "The Lord...
.           and I...
.           My Father’s...
.           and I...
.           The Lord...
.           and I...
.           My Father’s...
.           and I..."

ALL         "I Will...
.           For He...
.           The Horse...
.                Thrown into...
.           I Will...
.           For He...
.           The Horse...
.                Thrown into..."

ALL         The Lord...
.           My Strength...
.           Has Now...
.           The Lord...
.           My Strength...
.           Has Now..."

ALL         "The Lord...
.           and I...
.           My Father’s...
.           and I...
.           The Lord...
.           and I...
.           My Father’s...
.           and I..."

(GROUP E, enters as “ISRAELITES,” and group together
in a bunch, with MOSES at one side.)

NAR. E1     After a while, these Israelites
.           who had been led out of Egypt with Moses,
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people...

(PHOTO OP:  “ISRAELITES” gather together and           13
says “cheese” while someone quickly taking a photo.
While NARRATOR speaks, MOSES leads “ISRAELITES” around
the stage once then stops at center stage.  “ISRAELITES”
wearily wipe their brows and look around, tired.)

NAR. E1     Now God had Moses
.           lead the Israelite people
.           through the wilderness
.           towards the Promised Land.
.           They called it that,
.           because this was the land
.           that God had promised to Abraham.
.           They were taken through the wilderness
.           because it kept them away from other enemies,
.           and so they were kept safe.
.           And as they traveled,
.           God provided food and water for them.

(CHILD E1 breaks away from the GROUP and wanders away,
hands up to his forehead, looking.)

CHILD E1    Moses!  Where is Moses?

(BOY quickly goes to escort CHILD E1 back to the GROUP.)

MOSES       (stops and turns)  What is it now?

(ALL swarm around MOSES, who looks overwhelmed.)

CHILD E2    So why’re we going through
.           this wilderness?

CHILD E3    I’m so hot and tired.

CHILD E4    And thirsty!  I’m so thirsty!

CHILD E5    But could we have something else
.           besides water?

CHILD E6    And maybe we could eat something else.
.           I’m so tired of manna and quail.

CHILD E7    Yo! My brother keeps hitting me.

CHILD E8    My neighbor keeps calling me names.

CHILD E9    My husband just died,
.           and I really need some help with that.

MOSES       Ahhhhh...                                  14

(CHILD E10 steps forward and pulls MOSES aside.)

CHILD E10   Moses, you should choose some helpers
.           to take the smaller problems,
.           so you can help those
.           with the bigger problems.

(MOSES points at BOYS 1-3 who then step forward.
MOSES kindly leads CHILD 15 off stage.  Meanwhile,
“ISRAELITES” crowd around the few BOYS.)

CHILD E2    So why’re we going
.           through this wilderness?

CHILD E3    I’m so hot and tired.

CHILD E4    And thirsty!  I’m so thirsty!

CHILD E5    But could we have something else
.           besides water?

CHILD E6    And maybe we could eat something else.
.           I’m so tired of manna and quail.

CHILD E7    My brother keeps hitting me.

CHILD E8    My neighbor keeps calling me names.

BOYS 1-3    Ahhhhh...

(BOYS 1-3 look dumbfounded as they listen.
MOSES reenters holding up tablets.)

MOSES       Listen up, people.
.           God has given us some laws.

CHILD E2    Whaaaaaat?

MOSES       There is only ten of them.

CHILD E3    That’s still a lot!

MOSES       But when you think about it,
.           it’s really only more like two.
.           Love God – and love people!

CHILD E4    Whatever for?

MOSES       These laws will help us                    15
.           have a better relationship
.           with God and with each other.

CHILD E5    I need to think about that.

CHILD E6    Yeah, sounds like work, to me.

CHILD E7    I just want to do my own thing!

(GROUP E/”ISRAELITES follow MOSES off the stage
while still complaining, repeating their lines over again
but all at once sort of thing.  CHILD E1 wanders off in the
opposite direction, hand up to forehead, searching.)

CHILD E1    Moses?... Where’s Moses?

(BOY sees CHILD E1, and rushes to collect him and usher him back
to be with GROUP E, already exiting.
GROUP F enters, wandering onto stage looking around.)

NAR. F1     Because of the people’s disobedience,
.           these people would never see
.           the Promised Land,
.           and so they wandered the wilderness
.           for forty years.
.           But these people’s children
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on.
.           Until there were a lot more people...

(PHOTO OP:  GROUP F, entering as “ISRAELITES,”
gathers together and says “cheese”
while someone mimes quickly taking a photo.)

NAR. F1     They found themselves – FINALLY -
.           in the Promised Land.

(“ISRAELITES” cheer, “yay!” then they get into places.
To make it interesting, they can be interacting
while involved with playground games such as
miming hopscotch, skipping rope, playing catch...)

NAR. F1     Over the next several hundreds of years,
.           God still kept showing the people
.           how much He wanted to have
.           a close relationship with them.

TEEN F1     I cannot believe how peaceful
.           it is right now.
.                                                      16
TEEN F2     That’s because King Hezekiah
.           is NOT like his father.

TEEN F3     King Ahaz was nothing but trouble.

TEEN F1     Still, I don’t understand why?
.           I liked it so much better
.           when I could do things my way.

TEEN F2     But can’t you see?
.           Whenever our nation has disobeyed God,
.           we get captured and put into slavery.
.           But when we obey, we have peace.
.           And success in whatever we do.

TEEN F3     Most of our kings have
.           caused more trouble than good.

TEEN F2     Remember, even though we were warned,
.           our people WANTED to be like other nations
.           and have a king rule over us.
.           And God finally let us have what we wanted.

TEEN F3     But now God keeps sending us
.           those prophets.  Like if warning us
.           would make some kind of difference.

TEEN F2     It does – sometimes.

TEEN F1     Ugh, and speaking of prophets!
.           Here comes Isaiah, now.

(ISAIAH enters.  TEENS 1, 3, 5 and 10 try to look
“invisible”/oblivious, while the rest are curious.
Although, TEEN 4 is more interested in getting
an argument going, then steps back to enjoy.)

TEEN F4     Soooo, tell us, Isaiah!...

ISAIAH      Tell you what?

TEEN F4     Is there a dooms day coming?

ISAIAH      Wouldn’t you rather hear about hope?

TEEN F4     But that only happens
.           when we have an obedient king,
.           right?

TEEN F5     AND the king has to be                     16
.           from King David’s descendants, right?
.           Because God promised that
.           King David’s family would reign forever.

TEEN F6     I don’t see how.  I mean,
.           just look at the mess our nation is in.
.           We’re pretty hopeless.
.           So many times, we have tried
.           doing things our way,
.           which only gets us into trouble.
.           We can never get it right,
.           EVEN when God sends us leaders and judges,
.           and now kings and prophets.

ISAIAH      But one day we will have someone
.           who is all of those things, as well as
.           being a perfect obedient king.

TEEN F7     Really?  I mean, come on, not really.
.           You’re just talking about - a GOOD king,
.           like King Hezekiah.

ISAIAH      I actually mean – perfect.
.           In everything!

TEEN F5     Ohhh, you’re talking about the Messiah.
.           The One who will become king
.           and bring all things back to being
.           kind of like – the Garden of Eden.

ISAIAH      A child will be born to us,
.           a son will be given to us;  and
.           the government will rest on His shoulders.
.           His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
.           Mighty God, Eternal Father,
.           Prince of Peace.

TEEN F7     Wait a minute!  That sounds like –
.           like God is going to come down –
.           here – to us – God, Himself,
.           is going to sit on the throne
.           and be our King.

(ISAIAH nods, then saunters off as
“ISRAELITES” continue to talk amongst themselves.)

TEEN F8     No way!  Whoa!  That SOUNDS great.
.           But will we be able to recognize Him?

TEEN F5     I THINK it would be obvious.               15
.           Someone who is perfect
.           would obviously stand out.

TEEN F8     So we’ll be on the lookout then.

TEEN F7     That’s not something a person
.           can just easily forget about.
.           I mean, that’s huge.
.           That is crazy-awesome!

TEEN F9     But - can He do that?

TEEN F8     God created the universe.  I think -
.           He can do anything.

TEEN F9     I suppose.  But- when?

(TEEN 9 looks around for ISAIAH.)

TEEN F9     Hey, where did he go?  Come on,
.           let’s find him!  I want to know more.

TEEN F10    Seriously?  I could not care less.

(TEEN F10 waves off F9.  While NARRATOR speaks,
GROUP F get into a group and form the manager scene.
A few TEENS can hold their arms out to emulate
the roof of the stable...)

NAR. F2     Well, over many more years,
.           these people’s children
.           had children, who had children,
.           who had children – and so on...
.           Then, a baby was born...

(TEEN posing as MARY holds out her arms as if
holding a baby as the PHOTOGRAPHER takes the photo.
GROUP looks at baby instead of camera.)

GROUP       Awwwwww.

(GROUP G/TEENS now enter to sing and join GROUP F.
They sit in a picturesque grouping.
First place the GROUP, then add the soloists
within the grouping according to where they should
come from, depending on how you choreograph this.
It should always be worshipful.  GROUP should
look intently at the soloists when they are singing.
SOLOISTS look out at audience with this awesome message.)

SONG 4:
THERE IS A REDEEMER (by Keith Green)

SOLO 1      "There is...
.           Jesus, God's...
.           Precious Lamb...
.           Holy One."

SOLO 2      "Thank you...
.           For giving...
SOLO 3      And leaving...
.           Til the..."

TRIO 1-3    "Jesus my...
.           Name above...
.           Precious Lamb...
.           Hope for..."

SOLO 4      "Thank you...
.           For giving...
.           And leaving...
.           Til the..."

TRIO 4-6    "When I...
.           I will...
.           There I'll...
.           In that..."

ALL         "Thank you...
.           For giving...
.           And leaving...
.           Til the..."

(Those on stage quietly form a GROUP at stage left.)

NAR. G1     This - was Jesus.
.           A descendant of Adam and Eve.
.           A descendant of Abraham.
.           A descendant of King David.
.           Born through the virgin Mary -
.           Born through the Holy Spirit –
.           This was God’s Son.
.           The Christ.
.           The Messiah,
.           The Promised One. - -
.           The answer!  To the problem of sin.
.           A death in our place to give us life.
.           God was now going to provide the way
.           for people to have a close relationship
.           with Him - forever.
.                                                      20
(TEEN G1 enters with a look of frustration.
TEEN G3 follows behind, curiously.  If there are any
others from GROUP G, they can enter here and join the
“ISRAELITES” at stage left.  TEEN G1 stops at
center stage.  TEEN G3 stops at stage right.)

TEEN G3     Come on.  Why won’t you tell us?

TEEN G1     You won’t believe me.

(TEEN G2 steps out and stands between GROUP and TEEN G1.)

TEEN G2     Try us!  Pleeeease?
.           I’ll believe you.

GROUP       Yeah, we’ll believe you.

TEEN G1     Okay.  Other people saw this, as well.

TEEN G2     I’m having a hard time believing it.

TEEN G1     You just asked me to tell you.

TEEN G2     I know!  I know.  It’s just, all -
.           very - fantastically incredible.

GROUP       Yeah, very fantastically incredible!

TEEN G1     It is.  But it’s true.  And -
.           there HAVE been a lot of witnesses.

TEEN G3     But the Pharisees are saying that
.           someone tampered with the grave.

(TEEN G4 steps out from GROUP briefly for their line.)

TEEN G4     I heard it was an angel
.           who rolled the stone away from the grave.

GROUP       Yeah, an angel!

TEEN G2     Listen to yourselves!
.           Angels?  Someone coming back to life
.           after being dead for three days?
.           And He was VERY dead.
.           I did see that.

(TEEN G5 steps out from GROUP briefly for their line.)

TEEN G5     You listen.  There were Roman soldiers     21
.           surrounding that grave.  No human being
.           can mess with a Roman soldier!
.           And those soldiers would NEVER
.           fall asleep while on duty.

GROUP       Yeah!  NEVER!

(TEEN G4 steps out from GROUP briefly for their line.)

TEEN G4     And those stones that block the entrance –
.           are very heavy.  Just so you know.

GROUP       Yeah, just so you know.

(TEEN G6 rushes in from stage right.)

TEEN G6     Hey!  Have you heard?  Jesus is alive!

TEEN G2     We’re discussing that right now.

TEEN G6     I just saw Him.

TEEN G2     What?  Like a ghost?

GROUP       Yeah, like a ghost???

TEEN G6     NOT a ghost!  He ate a meal with us.
.           And – we talked.  And Thomas –
.           just HAD to touch Him.

TEEN G2     Ooohhhh - noooo.

(TEEN G2 becomes sad and sinks to the ground,
with deep realization.)

TEEN G6     Are you okay?

TEEN G2     He came as our Messiah,
.           the Promised One.
.           But - we didn’t recognize Him.
.           I – did not recognize Him.
.           Why didn’t I recognize Him?
.           There were signs.  He went around
.           doing miracles.  Who else can do that?

(In a moment of silence, GROUP looks around at each other
in question, and shrugging.)

TEEN G3     I think we just didn’t WANT to see.
.                                                      22
TEEN G1     We’re ALL guilty.
.           We all rejected Him from being our King.

(TEEN G2 suddenly realizes the gravity of their actions.)

TEEN G2     WE PUT HIM TO DEATH ON A CROSS!
.           Like - some – common criminal
.           (grows quieter, almost hopeless)
.           He did nothing wrong.
.           We were just accusing Him of things –
.           making things up –
.           going with the flow.

GROUP       (sadly)  Yeah, going with the flow.

TEEN G6     But - I think we’re missing the point.
.           He rose from the dead.  He’s alive.
.           Jesus has the victory over death.

(GROUP is very quiet for a moment.
TEEN 12 still has questions and eases into it.)

TEEN G2     So when is Jesus
.           going to become our King, then?

TEEN G6     Well, now that I’m thinking about it,
.           Jesus told us about
.           some signs to look for –
.           for His coming down to earth again –
.           when He WILL become our King.

(TEEN G5 breaks away from the GROUP to pace,
thinking, then realizes...)

TEEN G5     Wait, is that what He was talking about...
.           when He talked about the kingdom of heaven?
.           Isn’t that the time when the earth will
.           kind of be like the Garden of Eden again?

TEEN G2     (to TEEN G6)  But did Jesus tell you
.           WHEN this would happen?

TEEN G6     (thinks, then shakes his head)
.           He said ONLY God, the Father knows the time.

TEEN G5     So, that could mean, what?
.           Today – tomorrow –
.           or a few more years from now?

NAR. G2     By now, you know the drill.                23
.           Over many more years,
.           and lots and lots
.           of generations of children –

(PHOTO OP:  GROUP F/G gathers together and says “cheese”
while someone mimes quickly taking a photo.)

NAR. G2     When we come to our present time.
.           (you can give the exact date here)
.           We’re still waiting for that day.
.           But Jesus already sits
.           on His heavenly throne.
.           And we have found the answer –
.           God has already provided the way
.           for us to have a close relationship
.           with Him - forever.
.           It’s only through Jesus.
.           Making HIM the King of our lives!
.           All we have to do is make the decision.

(GROUP F/G dances the intro, then moves back
as the other GROUPS enter to dance
at different verses and choruses,
ending with EVERYONE dancing at the end.
Just play the recording, but if the kids can,
they can sing along.)
